Oral Historian Captures WWII Veterans' Stories Across America
Chandler Stark, an oral historian for the Gary Sinise Foundation at The National WWII Museum, is on a mission to document the stories of World War II veterans across the United States. With only about 45,000 American WWII veterans still living, Stark travels the country to capture their experiences on video. Recently, he visited North Carolina to interview 103-year-old Clyde Church, a veteran of the Pacific theater. Stark's efforts are part of a broader initiative to preserve the voices of a generation that is rapidly fading. The National WWII Museum houses over 12,000 oral histories, and Stark's work contributes to this growing archive.
