Seattle Police Arrest Driver Asleep with Gun on Lap, Blocking Aurora Avenue Traffic
Seattle police responded to a 'blocking traffic call' on Aurora Avenue North near the North 125th Street intersection on Sunday morning. Officers discovered a man asleep in the driver's seat of a vehicle, with a pistol resting on his lap. Multiple police units, including at least five patrol cars, were dispatched to the scene to surround the vehicle and secure the area. After approximately 30 minutes, the man exited the car and slowly backed towards the police with his hands behind his head. He was subsequently arrested on weapons-related charges and booked into the King County Jail. The incident led to the blocking of multiple southbound lanes on Aurora Avenue North.
