Rep. Nicole Malliotakis Urges U.S. Military Action Against Raúl Castro Amid Indictment
Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, a congresswoman from Staten Island, is calling for the U.S. military to apprehend former Cuban President Raúl Castro and bring him to justice in the United States. This call comes as the Department of Justice is finalizing an indictment against Castro and five others for their alleged roles in the 1996 shoot-down of two U.S. aircraft, which resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including three Americans. Malliotakis, whose mother fled communist Cuba, expressed concerns that Castro might evade capture by seeking refuge in countries like China, Russia, or Iran. She referenced a previous operation ordered by President Trump that led to the arrest of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, suggesting a similar approach could be taken with Castro.
