New Jersey Homeowners Benefit from Stacked Solar Incentives and Federal Tax Credit
New Jersey homeowners are leveraging a combination of federal and state incentives to significantly reduce the cost of solar energy system ownership. At the forefront is the Federal Solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which provides a 30% tax credit for solar energy systems installed between 2022 and 2032. This credit directly reduces federal tax liability, with any remaining credit rolling over to subsequent tax years. Complementing the ITC, New Jersey has transitioned from its original SREC program to the current administratively determined incentive (ADI) program, utilizing Transition Renewable Energy Certificates (TRECs).
