Community College Research Center Secures Restoration of Federal Funding for Key Projects
The Community College Research Center (CCRC) at Columbia University's Teachers College has successfully regained some of its federal funding, which had been previously cut by the Trump administration. The funding restoration comes after Columbia University reached an agreement with the federal government. The restored funds will support three significant projects: an evaluation of the Federal Work-Study program, a research network focused on pandemic recovery strategies, and an evaluation of Virginia's Get a Skill, Get a Job, Get Ahead (G3) program. These projects aim to provide financial assistance to low-income students in short-term training programs for high-demand fields. Thomas Brock, the director of CCRC, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue these projects, emphasizing their importance in helping students earn credentials and succeed in the labor market.
