Snow, Ice and 70-MPH Winds Threaten Plains and Great Lakes
A fast-moving clipper will sweep into the northern Plains on Tuesday, spreading snow north of its track and a mix of rain, snow, and ice to the south, creating slippery travel. By Wednesday, it moves into the Great Lakes and Northeast, bringing 3–6 inches of snow from North Dakota to Vermont and up to 12 inches in parts of Wisconsin and Michigan. Strong winds up to 70 mph may trigger blowing snow and outages. More clippers later in the week will reinforce colder air and additional snowfall.
