North Texas Community Honors Fallen Soldier Isabella Gonzales
The community in Carrollton, Texas, is honoring 19-year-old Pvt. Isabella Gonzales, who was killed in an Iranian strike in Jordan. Volunteers are making black and purple ribbons to commemorate her life ahead of her funeral service. Gonzales, a Carrollton native and Hebron High School graduate, joined the U.S. Army and was killed on July 17 while supporting a mission against the Islamic State. Her funeral will be held at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, with an honor ride preceding the service. Local leaders and the Lewisville Independent School District have paid tribute to Gonzales, and plans are underway for a permanent memorial in her honor.
