Indonesian Train Collision Results in 15 Fatalities and Dozens Injured
A tragic train collision occurred near Jakarta, Indonesia, resulting in the deaths of 15 people, all women, and injuring 88 others. The incident took place when a long-distance train collided with the rear of a stationary commuter train at Bekasi Timur Station. The commuter train's rear car was designated for women only, a measure to prevent harassment. Rescue operations have been completed, with all victims evacuated from the wreckage. The cause of the accident is under investigation, with initial reports suggesting that a stalled taxi on the tracks may have led to the commuter train's halt, subsequently being hit by the long-distance train.
