Florida Dominates List of America's Sweatiest Cities, Study Finds
A recent study by beverage company Waterboy has identified Florida as home to seven of the top ten sweatiest cities in the United States. The study, which analyzed climate data from 80 cities, assigned 'Hydration Demand Scores' based on factors such as heat index, average temperature, dew point, and humidity. West Palm Beach topped the list with a score of 58.9, spending 54.1% of the year above the National Weather Service's caution threshold of 80°F (27°C). Miami and Fort Myers followed with scores of 51 and 46.4, respectively. Other Florida cities in the top ten include Melbourne, Tampa, Orlando, and Jacksonville. Outside of Florida, Honolulu, New Orleans, and Houston also made the list. The study highlights the challenges of staying cool and hydrated in these high-humidity, high-temperature environments, particularly during the peak summer months of July and August.
