China Showcases Advanced Counter-Drone Laser and Microwave Weapons in Live-Fire Drills
China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) has publicly displayed its advanced counter-drone capabilities during recent live-fire drills, featuring laser weapons, high-power microwave systems, and integrated missile-gun platforms. State television, CCTV News, reported on these exercises conducted by a brigade of the PLA's 75th Group Army, which simulated various combat scenarios from day to night. The drills focused on rapid response, firepower coordination, and sustained combat capability, including the ability to relocate and re-establish air-defense positions. During one scenario, radar detected a dense swarm of drones, prompting counter-drone units to activate ground-based laser and microwave systems for optical dazzling and electromagnetic suppression.
