Catholic Relief Services and U.S. State Department Deliver Humanitarian Aid to Cuba Amidst Political Tensions
Catholic Relief Services (CRS), in collaboration with the U.S. State Department, has initiated a humanitarian aid program to Cuba, valued at $100 million. The first shipment, consisting of food and hygiene kits, was dispatched from Miami to Cuba. This initiative aims to provide direct assistance to Cuban families without interference from the Cuban government. The aid is distributed through local parishes and volunteers, ensuring it reaches those in need. This effort follows previous collaborations between CRS and the U.S. government, such as the aid provided after Hurricane Melissa.
