Middle East Conflict Disrupts Thailand's Car Exports, Impacting Global Supply Chain
Thailand's car manufacturing sector is experiencing pressure due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, which is disrupting shipping routes and increasing energy prices. According to the Federation of Thai Industries, auto production in Thailand fell by 0.4% year-on-year in April, totaling 103,794 units. This decline is notable given that overall production had increased by 2.7% year-on-year in the previous month. The conflict's impact on logistics and energy costs is beginning to affect Thailand's automotive industry, which is a significant player in the global supply chain.
