Spain Battles Severe Wildfires as Burned Area Reaches 70,000 Hectares
Spain is currently facing one of its most severe wildfire seasons, with two major fires raging in the north-eastern and central regions. The fire near La Mierla in Guadalajara province has burned nearly 13,000 hectares, while another near Orés in Zaragoza province has consumed over 15,400 hectares. Emergency services are actively working to contain these blazes, with around 450 firefighters involved in the operations. The fires have led to the evacuation of several villages, and authorities are investigating the causes, which may be linked to agricultural activities.
