India Selects Three Youth Volunteers as ITU Generation Connect Youth Envoys for 2026–2030
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India has facilitated the selection of three Sanchar Mitras (youth volunteers) to serve as Generation Connect Youth Envoys (GCYE) for the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for the 2026–2030 term. The selected individuals are Ankit Kumar Pal from Delhi, Manish Kumar Mandal from Bengaluru, and Susmita Sain from Guwahati. These envoys will attend the ITU conference as part of the Sanchar Mitra scheme. This initiative is open to students from technical institutes with active programs in telecommunications, electronics, computers, cybersecurity, or similar fields, provided they agree to participate. The Sanchar Mitra scheme has been implemented across all states and Union Territories in India through the DoT's LSA field offices, with over 200 institutions currently involved.
