Avon Farm Owner Faces Business Threat from Road Construction Project
Jay Pickering, the owner of Pickering Hill Farms in Avon, Ohio, is facing significant business disruptions due to a road construction project on Detroit Road. The construction, which began in April, has blocked access to the farm's parking lot, impacting customer traffic during the farm's peak season. Pickering reports a decline of 1,000 customers in June alone. Despite reaching out to local authorities, including Mayor Bryan Jensen, the construction setup remains unchanged due to safety protocols. The project, a collaboration with ODOT, is expected to be completed by October, potentially affecting the farm's fall festival.
