Governor Andy Beshear Appoints Patti Minter to Kentucky Board of Education, Replacing Former UK President
Governor Andy Beshear has appointed Patti Minter, a history professor at Western Kentucky University (WKU), to the Kentucky Board of Education. This appointment is part of Beshear's recent efforts to fill positions on various state boards and commissions. Minter will serve on the board until April 14, 2030, succeeding Lee Todd, the former president of the University of Kentucky, whose term expired in April. Minter has been a faculty member at WKU since 1993 and has a notable history of public service, including representing the 20th district in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2019 to 2023. She also holds positions on the boards of the American Society for Legal History and the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky.
