American Psychoanalytic Association Offers Funded Externship for 2027 Annual Meeting in Washington D.C.
The American Psychoanalytic Association (APsaA) is offering a funded externship for undergraduate juniors and seniors, as well as graduate students, to attend its 2027 Annual Meeting. This event is scheduled to take place from February 1-5, 2027, at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington D.C. Ten selected students will have the opportunity to attend the meeting in person, with registration fees and hotel accommodations covered. A stipend will also be provided to assist with transportation and food costs. The externship aims to introduce students to the diverse aspects of psychoanalysis, including its theoretical foundations, interpretive methods across various disciplines, and clinical applications. Attendees will participate in the scientific program, which features plenary presentations, panels, and discussion groups covering topics such as gender and sexuality, addictions, child and adolescent analysis, ethics, and research.
