Man Fatally Stabs Wife and Daughter at Minnesota Daycare, Commits Suicide
Nathan Brown, 41, fatally stabbed his wife, Kristen Brown, also 41, and their 7-year-old daughter, Evie Brown, inside a home daycare in Hopkins, Minnesota, on a Wednesday morning. Following the stabbings, Nathan Brown took his own life by shooting himself in an upstairs closet. Kristen Brown operated the daycare from the basement of their family home. The tragic events unfolded while six other children were present at the daycare; however, authorities confirmed that none of these children sustained physical harm. According to police records, a father dropping off his own children witnessed part of the attack, initially mistaking Nathan Brown's actions for CPR before realizing the severity of the situation. He promptly called 911 and fled with his children and two others. Investigators also believe Nathan Brown was responsible for the death of a 78-year-old relative at her home in Burnsville, approximately 20 miles from Hopkins, where he had recently resided.
