The White House has been accused of misrepresenting crime data to exaggerate the impact of federal interventions in several cities. A review by NOTUS found that the administration's claims of significant crime reductions in cities like Memphis and New Orleans were not supported by the data cited. The White House had claimed that federal interventions led to the steepest drops in homicides, but the data showed different results. Crime data analyst Jeff Asher, whose work was referenced, stated that the White House's interpretation did not accurately reflect his findings.
