Southern California to See Slight Cooling Amid Fire Weather Concerns
Southern California's coastal areas are expected to experience slight relief from the ongoing summer heat wave, with temperatures forecasted to decrease by 1 to 2 degrees daily through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). However, temperatures will remain above seasonal averages. Coastal regions may also experience pockets of dense fog, while interior valleys, mountains, and deserts will continue to face high temperatures ranging from 100°F to 110°F (37.8°C to 43.3°C). Gusty winds of 35 to 40 mph are anticipated in the Antelope Valley. Elevated to critical fire weather conditions are expected in interior areas due to hot, dry, and breezy conditions, with single-digit humidity levels persisting through Saturday.
