Collierville Experiences Power Outage Affecting 6,000 Customers; Police Advise Caution at Intersections
Approximately 6,000 customers in the Collierville area of Memphis, Tennessee, are currently without power. The outage, which occurred on Sunday afternoon, has impacted 6,277 customers according to the MLGW outage map. The Collierville Police Department has acknowledged the situation and confirmed that MLGW (Memphis Light, Gas and Water) has been notified. Authorities are advising residents to exercise extreme caution, particularly at intersections where traffic signals are completely out. In such cases, drivers are instructed to treat these intersections as four-way stops, slowing down and ensuring safety before proceeding. Additionally, the police department has issued a warning to stay away from any downed power lines or other electrical emergencies and to contact CPD Dispatch at (901) 853-3207 for assistance.
