Nashville Public School Records Discovered at Local Goodwill Store
A customer at a Goodwill store on Cockrill Bend Boulevard in Nashville, Tennessee, discovered stacks of Metro Nashville Public Schools records containing private student information. The documents included sensitive details such as student names, dates of birth, teacher and parent information, and behavior plans. The customer attempted to purchase the records to turn them over to the state's department of education but was informed by Goodwill staff that they would handle the situation. Goodwill Middle Tennessee confirmed the discovery, stating that the documents were found within an item that had been for sale. Following their policy, the outlet team removed the item from the sales floor and transferred it to the Goodwill Asset Protection Department. This department has since contacted Metro Nashville Public Schools to ensure the safe return of the documents.
