Memphis Restaurant Implements Age Restriction to Enhance Safety
A bar and lounge in southeastern Memphis, known as Prive, has implemented a new policy restricting entry to individuals aged 30 and above. This decision, effective from August 1, follows a history of safety issues at the establishment, including a notable incident in 2023 that resulted in two fatalities. The Memphis Police Department recorded at least 13 incidents involving Prive over the past year. The new age restriction aims to create a safer environment by excluding the demographic statistically more likely to engage in nightlife altercations. Local patrons have expressed support for the policy, hoping it will lead to a more peaceful atmosphere.
