Severe Storms Bring Hail and Flood Warnings to New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana
Severe thunderstorms are currently impacting Southeast Louisiana, including New Orleans, leading to reports of hail and flash flood warnings. Videos shared by WDSU show hail ranging from dime- to quarter-sized falling in various Uptown New Orleans neighborhoods, such as near Loyola, Jackson and Magazine, Constantinople, Constance Street, and Penniston. Hail was also reported in Covington on the Northshore. As a result of these weather conditions, a Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Northeastern Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish, and Plaquemines Parish, effective until 6:15 p.m. Additionally, a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for New Orleans, Jefferson Parish, St. Bernard Parish, St. Tammany Parish, Plaquemines Parish, and Hancock County, Mississippi, until 4:15 p.m. Residents are advised to remain vigilant and follow local weather advisories.
