Whatcom County Sheriff's Office Launches 'Spotlight on Service' Series to Highlight Diverse Roles
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) has initiated a new program called 'Spotlight on Service.' This series aims to showcase the wide array of jobs and individuals who contribute to serving Whatcom County, moving beyond common perceptions that focus solely on corrections or patrol duties. The WCSO emphasizes that its operations encompass much more than just jail management or responding to traffic incidents. The initiative seeks to illuminate the various departments and roles within the office, including training and administration within corrections, work crew management, and mechanics at the Fleet Shop. It also highlights remote duty deputies, emergency management personnel involved in CERT, ham radio operations, public information, and Search and Rescue efforts.
