Near-Record Heat Expected in Memphis This Week
Memphis and the Mid-South are set to experience unseasonably high temperatures this week, with highs in the low 90s°F (32-34°C) from Monday through Thursday. These temperatures are approaching record highs for October, with Monday's forecasted high of 91°F (32.8°C) just one degree shy of the 1975 record of 92°F (33.3°C). Humidity levels are also expected to rise gradually, leading to heat indices that could reach the upper 90s°F (35-37°C) to near 100°F (37.8°C) by midweek. Despite the heat, the nights will remain relatively comfortable, with lows in the mid-60s°F (18-20°C).
