London Streets Grapple with Unpaid Fines from Supercar Tourists
London's affluent areas, particularly Westminster, are experiencing significant issues with supercar owners from Gulf nations who park illegally and accumulate unpaid parking fines. These foreign-plated Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and Rolls-Royces frequently occupy no-parking zones, taxi ranks, and bus stops. A common scenario involves a Qatari Ferrari left in a Harrods loading area with a parking ticket that goes unpaid. Between 2018 and 2022, Westminster authorities attempted to collect payments for over 13,000 tickets issued to vehicles from the United Arab Emirates, but only approximately 1% of these fines were paid.
