Harrison Ford and Michael J. Fox Launch PSA for Parkinson's Support
Actors Harrison Ford and Michael J. Fox have collaborated on a new public service announcement (PSA) for The Michael J. Fox Foundation (MJFF). The PSA, titled “So…Your Friend Has Parkinson’s,” aims to simplify how individuals can support friends diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Created by Ryan Reynolds’ agency, Maximum Effort, the campaign features Fox, who was diagnosed in 1991, and Ford offering practical advice on providing genuine support. The dialogue is direct and casual, encouraging simple communication, avoiding attempts to 'fix' friends, and consistently showing up for them. Ford emphasized Fox's ability to make difficult conversations easier, stating their goal was to bring honesty and humor to a topic many find challenging. This initiative comes as MJFF continues its efforts to advance Parkinson’s science, having invested over $2.5 billion in research since its inception in 2000. The PSA is available on YouTube and MJFF’s social media channels.
