DocuBay to Premiere Documentary on Silkyara Tunnel Rescue Operation
DocuBay, a leading platform for documentaries, is set to premiere '41 Alive – The Silkyara Tunnel Rescue Story.' This 60-minute film, produced by Dreamcatchers Films and directed by Akshit Mathur, chronicles the dramatic 17-day rescue operation in November 2023. During this incident, a section of the under-construction Silkyara-Barkot tunnel collapsed, trapping 41 workers. The documentary will delve into the human aspects of the rescue, featuring accounts from the trapped workers, the round-the-clock rescue teams, experts navigating complex geological challenges, and the 'rat-hole miners' whose manual efforts were crucial in clearing the final debris. The film also includes insights from Professor Arnold Dix, an international tunneling expert involved in the operation. It aims to reconstruct the uncertainty, setbacks, and determination that characterized the 17-day ordeal, offering a perspective beyond the initial news headlines.
