Trout Creek, Michigan, a small community in the Upper Peninsula, has a rich history tied to the sawmill and railroad industries. Established in the late 19th century, Trout Creek became a hub for logging operations, with three sawmills operating by 1912. These mills not only provided employment but also powered the town's electricity. The community developed around the Duluth, South Shore, and Atlantic Railway, which facilitated the transport of lumber and goods.
