Lineage's Safety Record Under Scrutiny After Major Fire at L.A. Food Warehouse
A massive fire at a food storage warehouse in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles has brought renewed attention to the safety practices of Lineage, one of the world's largest cold storage companies. The fire, which occurred on June 17, 2026, is part of a series of incidents involving Lineage properties, with at least 63 fires reported over the past decade. Residents near the Boyle Heights facility are dealing with lingering odors and concerns about exposure to pollutants. The Environmental Protection Agency has demanded information from Lineage regarding safety compliance and chemical releases during the fire. Lineage, which operates over 500 temperature-controlled warehouses globally, has faced multiple enforcement actions and penalties for safety and environmental violations in the past.
