President Xi Jinping to Attend SCO Summit and Conduct State Visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt
President Xi Jinping is scheduled to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and undertake state visits to Kyrgyzstan and Egypt from August 30 to September 3. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the SCO, an organization founded in June 2001 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The SCO has since expanded to 10 member states, collectively representing over 3.4 billion people and approximately one-fourth of the global GDP. During the summit, President Xi will engage in discussions with participating leaders on enhancing SCO cooperation across various sectors and addressing significant international and regional issues.
