Crown Heights Jewish Community Council Urges Tishrei Guests to Secure Medical Travel Insurance Before U.S. Travel
The Crown Heights Jewish Community Council (CHJCC) is strongly advising all guests traveling to Crown Heights for Tishrei to purchase adequate medical travel insurance prior to their departure. This warning stems from past experiences where medical emergencies involving international visitors without proper insurance led to significant financial distress. Medical care costs in the United States can be exceptionally high, with hospital stays, emergency procedures, or unexpected treatments potentially resulting in bills ranging from thousands to tens of thousands of dollars. Shmuly Rosenstein, Acting Chairman of CHJCC, emphasized that the relatively small cost of travel insurance is a worthwhile investment to avoid a financial crisis in the event of a medical emergency. The CHJCC is urging travelers to ensure their policies provide sufficient medical coverage in the U.S., remain active for their entire stay, and cover all family members.
