The program seeks to unite public and private funders to transform the current reactive approach to malnutrition into a proactive, preventative system. The organization emphasizes the urgent need for funding to avert further catastrophes, particularly in regions like Somalia, where 26,000 people are on the brink of catastrophic food insecurity, and nearly 2 million children are expected to suffer acute malnutrition in the coming year. Save the Children has been active in Somalia since 1951, providing essential services including health, nutrition, education, and child protection.
