Deadly Tour Bus Fire on 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights Closes Lanes, Investigation Underway
A deadly tour bus fire occurred on the 60 Freeway in Hacienda Heights, California, resulting in at least one fatality and the closure of the third and fourth lanes of the freeway. The incident took place around 5:38 a.m. in the area of State Route 60 and Azusa Avenue. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and successfully extinguished the blaze. Images from the scene show the rear half of the tour bus severely burned, with flames having engulfed several rows of seating. Authorities have requested the Los Angeles County Coroner to the scene. The cause of the fire remains unclear, and the bus did not appear to have been involved in a collision, though its luggage compartments were found open.
