Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash on Northwest Loop 1604 in San Antonio Claims One Life, Injures Another
A multi-vehicle collision occurred on Northwest Loop 1604 in San Antonio, Texas, resulting in one fatality and one hospitalization. The incident took place on Wednesday around 8:10 a.m. on Loop 1604 westbound at Northwest Military Highway. According to the San Antonio Fire Department and San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), an SUV driver rear-ended a cement truck, causing the SUV to catch fire. The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, with the vehicle fully engulfed in flames upon the arrival of emergency services. The identity and cause of death for the SUV driver have not yet been determined. The driver of the cement truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. As of 11:20 a.m. on the day of the incident, the section of Loop 1604 at Northwest Military Highway was shut down, as reported by the Texas Department of Transportation.
