Boy Scout William Klein Partners with Sweetwater County Fire District for Home Safety Initiative
Local Boy Scout William Klein from Troop 4 is collaborating with Sweetwater County Fire District No. 1 to enhance home safety for families in the Rock Springs area. This partnership aims to provide residents with practical fire prevention tips and ensure their homes are safe. Klein and Battalion Chief Clark Allred are offering free home visits to assist residents. During these visits, they help create customized emergency plans, check windows and doors for proper exits, identify good outside family meeting places, and practice fire escape drills. Additionally, they provide guidance on cleaning and testing smoke detectors, when to change batteries, and optimal placement of detectors, including considerations for pet safety. This initiative was showcased at the Main Street Market at Bunning Park, where Klein and Allred engaged directly with community members to discuss fire safety awareness.
