Earliest Snowfall Dates Highlighted Across the US; Alaska Braces for Heavy Snow
A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of Alaska, forecasting snowfall of up to 11 inches in the Eastern Alaskan Range, particularly near Donnelly Dome, Trims Camp, and sections of the Richardson Highway. Snowfall rates may reach 0.5 to 1 inch per hour, creating hazardous travel conditions. Meanwhile, freeze warnings and frost advisories have been issued across four other states, including North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Colorado, as temperatures drop to the low 30s Fahrenheit. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) data reveals that many states in the U.S. have historically experienced their first measurable snowfall as early as September or October, with El Niño potentially delaying snowfall this year.
