Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jose Uribe Retires After 33-Year Army Career
Chief Warrant Officer 5 Jose Uribe, the first Senior Petroleum Advisor for the U.S. Army Quartermaster School Petroleum, Water and Energy Department, retired on August 14 after 33 years of service. The ceremony took place at Mullins Auditorium. Uribe, the son of Mexican immigrants, began his Army career in 1993 as a 92F petroleum supply specialist. His early assignments included executing the first-ever Fuel System Supply Point joint-forced entry parachute assault at Sicily Drop Zone at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Throughout his career, he deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, as a linguist, served in Port au Prince, Haiti, for Operation Uphold Democracy, and deployed to both Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom after 9/11. In 2003, he was among the first in Iraq, serving as the non-commissioned officer in charge for the Forward Arming and Refueling Point, which supported the historic combat jump of the 173rd Airborne Brigade.
