Florida Highway Patrol Investigates Fatal Hit-and-Run After Orlando Man Struck by Multiple Vehicles
A 76-year-old Orlando man died after being hit by three vehicles while crossing State Road 535 in Orange County, Florida, early Monday morning. The incident occurred at 6:04 a.m. just south of Palm Parkway, where the pedestrian was crossing outside a marked crosswalk. According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) crash report, a 2015 Nissan Altima, driven by a 57-year-old Orlando man, struck the pedestrian first. The impact propelled the man into the outside lane, where he was then hit by a 2013 Nissan Cube, driven by a 47-year-old Orlando man. The Altima driver informed investigators that a third vehicle, possibly a white SUV, also struck the pedestrian and subsequently fled the scene. The driver of the Nissan Cube initially left but later returned. The pedestrian was transported to Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
