A federal judge has denied bankruptcy protection for former radio host Ronn Owens following an investigation into his GoFundMe campaign. Owens, who raised over $130,000 citing medical expenses, was found to have used only a small portion of the funds for healthcare. The U.S. Trustee Program uncovered that the majority of the donations were spent on discretionary expenses, leading to the dismissal of Owens' bankruptcy filing. This decision allows donors to potentially reclaim their contributions. Owens, known for his long career at KGO radio, had sought financial support due to health challenges, including Parkinson's disease and cancer.
