Louisiana to Replace Vehicle Inspection Stickers with QR Codes Starting January 2027
Louisiana will transition from traditional vehicle inspection stickers to QR code stickers starting January 2027. The new QR codes, costing $6, will be issued during vehicle registration renewals. This change follows a new state law abolishing the inspection sticker program, with police no longer issuing tickets for expired stickers. New Orleans and Kenner have ended their local brake tag programs, aligning with the state, while Westwego maintains its program.
