The storm is expected to move northward, potentially approaching Southern California over the Labor Day weekend. However, its exact path and impact remain uncertain. If the storm tracks west, it will likely weaken over cooler waters, resulting in minimal effects such as increased humidity or cloudiness. If it moves north, it could bring heavy rain and gusty winds to Southern California, though it is unlikely to make landfall as a hurricane. Historically, no hurricane has ever made landfall in Southern California, and the last significant tropical system, Hurricane Hilary in 2023, weakened to a post-tropical storm before reaching the region.
