Danaher Foundation Funds New Bridge for Children's Inn at NIH, Enhancing Access to Medical Research
The Danaher Foundation has provided a grant to fund the construction of the 'Danaher Bridge' at The Children's Inn at NIH. This new 1,000-foot-long bridge, set to open in 2027 as part of 'The Inn of Tomorrow' project, will connect The Inn directly to the NIH Clinical Center. The bridge is specifically designed to improve accessibility for young patients and their families, accommodating wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility devices. It aims to eliminate the need for families to navigate a busy parking lot and a steep hill, making the journey to critical medical treatments and research facilities safer and easier.
