Texas Businessman Sentenced to 13 Years for Wire Fraud and Identity Theft, Exotic Cars Seized
Clayton Lloyd Iley, a 41-year-old businessman from Stephenville, Texas, has been sentenced to over 13 years in federal prison for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas, Iley operated an insurance brokerage and two other companies, including Spartan Global Security, which offered private military contracting services. From January 2020 to May 2026, Iley defrauded victims by claiming he could invest their money in a non-existent 'Bonded Note' loan program supposedly offered by the Defense Department. He collected over $2 million, which he spent on personal expenses and to further his scheme. Additionally, Iley took premium payments from insurance clients but never opened their policies.
