North Dakota State University Reports Overall Enrollment Decline Amidst Growth in Key Areas
North Dakota State University (NDSU) has reported its first overall student enrollment decrease in three years, with a total of 11,609 students this fall, marking a 2.9% drop (343 students) compared to the previous year. This follows three consecutive years where enrollment remained static at 11,952 students. Despite the overall decline, NDSU has observed growth in specific areas. The university saw a 4% increase in first-time freshmen from North Dakota, totaling 840 students, with over 600 of these receiving the Bison Win Scholarship. Significant growth was also noted in academic programs aligned with North Dakota's workforce needs. The College of Health and Human Sciences experienced over a 10% increase in first-time freshmen, including a 24% rise in new nursing students.
