Clark County Firefighters Return After Battling Northern Nevada Blaze
Firefighters from Clark County, including those from the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, North Las Vegas Fire Department, and Henderson Fire Department, have returned home after assisting in combating the Ward Fire in Ely, Nevada. The fire, which expanded to over 8,500 acres, prompted evacuation alerts for nearby communities. The strike team, equipped with engines, arrived on August 3 to support fire suppression efforts. Over the course of the week, containment efforts improved, allowing the team to be demobilized. As of the latest update, the fire has grown to 8,909 acres with 35% containment. Remaining crews continue to manage interior fires and maintain containment lines.
