Kingston Housing Authority Begins Phase Two of Redevelopment to Expand Affordable Housing
The Kingston Housing Authority has commenced phase two of its redevelopment project in Kingston, Ulster County, as part of Governor Hochul's $25 billion housing plan. This phase involves replacing the 32-unit Penn Court development with an 80-unit senior living building, with 30 units reserved for seniors facing homelessness. The project, designed by Aufgang Architects, includes sustainable features like solar panels and electric vehicle charging stations. The redevelopment aims to provide affordable housing options and support services for seniors and individuals with disabilities, contributing to the state's goal of creating or preserving 100,000 affordable homes.
