Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith Announces $2.8 Million Grant for Mississippi Delta Healthcare Improvement
U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) has announced a $2.8 million grant aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery in the Mississippi Delta region. This funding will support two Mississippi organizations, the Mississippi Rural Hospital Alliance and the Delta Health Transformational Council, Inc., as part of the Delta Rural Integrated Health Network Program. The program's objective is to foster collaboration among rural hospitals, primary care clinics, behavioral health providers, and other essential healthcare organizations across Mississippi, Arkansas, and Louisiana. Senator Hyde-Smith emphasized that the initiative is designed to tackle administrative, cost, and healthcare delivery challenges faced by rural facilities, ultimately improving care and ensuring their survival. The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funding will be utilized over the next two years to strengthen networks, build economies of scale, reduce administrative costs, and support clinical services.
