Fort Collins Police Officer Charged After Multi-Vehicle Crash in Weld County
A Fort Collins police officer has been charged with careless driving following a multi-vehicle crash in Weld County. The incident occurred at the intersection of Weld County Road 76 and Weld County Road 33, involving an unmarked Ford F-150 driven by the officer. The truck collided with a Jeep Patriot, which was traveling northbound, and subsequently struck a Volkswagen Rabbit. The driver of the Jeep, a 53-year-old woman, and her three passengers sustained moderate to serious injuries. The officer suffered minor injuries and has been charged with two counts of careless driving causing bodily injury and one count of careless driving causing serious bodily injury. The Colorado State Patrol is leading the investigation.
